Tips for taking decks through airport security?
Main Post:
I’m going to GP Seattle this summer and want to get through any potential delays with the TSA as quickly as possible and with them handling my cards as little as possible. Anyone have advice for where to store them, what to say to the agents, or anything else? If it’s relevant, I’m flying out of another spot in the US and will be carrying ultra pro satin towers.
Top Comment: When I fly with my decks sometimes they see it on the x-ray and since it’s a block of paper it shows to them as a solid cube. Usually they will want to pull you aside to see what it is. But every time that’s happened to me they have seen that they are cards, use common sense, then all they do is one of those residue swabs and you’re on your way. I guess if anything my advice is to not put your cards on explosives and you should be all good.
On par with the efficiency of onebagging, How do all of you manage your finances? Which Travel credit cards do you recommend?

Hello all!
I'm researching elsewhere as well, but given how much all of you have helped me cut the clutter for my onebag kit, I'm curious what expert traveler advice you all have in terms of managing financials, credit cards, etc? I'm in the process of buying my flight for a 6 month overseas adventure, and I realized I should get a travel credit card to rack up miles with to help pay for airfare.
So onebaggers, what's the standard when it comes to Travel credit cards? What do all of you use? any tips for managing finances from the road?

When traveling overseas, I travel with two wallets. One in my bag, one in my pocket.
In my bag wallet, I have my passport, a debit card, and a credit card (and some other things)
In my pocket I carry a debit card, a credit card, and the things I’d need if I lost my passport (photo, passport copy, and us drivers license)
This way, I’m never in too much of a jam if either gets stolen.
As for which cards, I alway have two debit cards. Primary is Charles Schwab, back up is betterment. Both reimburse worldwide atm fees.
Currently my two credit cards are from chase (sapphire preferred)and us bank. In general I try to have all seperate banks. That way if any get a fraud case, my other cards still work.
For budgeting I use YNAB. It’s really convenient for managing multiple credit cards. For points, rack up points in the states and use them when you travel. I don’t worry too much about earning rates while traveling.
Many developing countries operate heavily on cash. I hate cash, but expect that if you’re in Asia or something
